The Chinese Embassy organized an information meeting recently on the Chinese
Scholarships of the year 2024 at Dhaka University. The event featured key figures such as
Yan Hualong, Deputy Chief of Mission and Minister Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in
Bangladesh, Professor Shamshad Mortuza, Director of the Office of International Affairs at
Dhaka University, and Dr. Yang Hui, Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute at Dhaka
University. Also in attendance were Dr. Rakibul Hoque, Professor of the Faculty of Business
Studies at Dhaka University and Vice Chairman of the Association of Bangladesh-China
Alumni, along with nearly 100 students from the university.
During the conference, Sun Kangning, Attaché of the Culture Section of the Chinese
Embassy, and Dr. Yang Hui provided insights into the Chinese Government Scholarship
and the Confucius Institute Scholarship. Additionally, Dr. Rakibul Hoque and other alumni
generously shared their personal experiences in China. Representatives at the meeting also
answered various questions raised by students about the scholarships.
