Chinese Ambassador Yao Wen visited recently Kishoreganj District with his spouse to attend the
Award Ceremony of the 12th Annual Sports Day of Lion Mujib Muna Girls High School and donated
school supplies to the school. The government officials of Kishoreganj District, including the deputy
commissioner and superintendent of Police, and all teachers and students of the school, participated
in the event.
Ambassador Yao said in his keynote speech that 10 th January is the Spring Festival of the Year of the
Dragon in the Chinese Lunar Calendar. It is a time for family and friends to reunite, and it also breeds
new hope. On such an important day, representatives from the Chinese Embassy in Bangladesh met
with the teachers and students of Lion Mujib Muna Girls High School and jointly held the award
ceremony of the 12th Annual Sports Day, which reflected the traditional friendship between China
and Bangladesh. Youth are the future of national development. It’s hoped that young friends from
both countries could deepen their understanding and learn from each other to further promote
China-Bangladesh friendship.
Lion Moshiur, president of the school expressed his sincere gratitude for the valuable support of the
Chinese Embassy to the school, saying that with the help of the Embassy, the students are bound
to cherish the time and study hard to act as the inheritors and successors of the traditional
friendship between China and Bangladesh in the future.
