Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Md Asaduzzaman today said people of all religions in the country are observing their respective faiths peacefully, without any hindrance or fear.
“There will be no room for creating minimum obstruction in practicing religion or observing religious rituals and ceremonies. Those involved in such activities will be brought under the law immediately after receiving the information,” he said.
He made the remarks at a Janmashtami programme held at Mathbari Temple in Shailkupa of Jhenaidah today.
Addressing the Hindu devotees present, the minister said,“Lord Sri Krishna appeared 5,000 years ago and was born with the purpose of destroying evil and all negative forces.”
Expressing optimism, he urged them to stand by the govt when it works and speaks against the country’s evil forces.
He assured those present that the government has a firm position on maintaining a congenial environment for practising religion.
“You will celebrate your festival and the government is by your side,” he said.
Later, the law minister joined a rally organized on the occasion of Janmashtami.
Representatives from district administration and local political leaders were present at the programme.
