Sarah Cooke, the British High Commissioner and Dhaka North City Corporation Mayor, Md Atiqul Islam, signed a memorandum of understanding recently for a partnership between the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) and the UK Government’s Centre of Expertise on Green Cities and Infrastructure, according to a press release.
The Centre of Expertise on Green Cities and Infrastructure is a new UK Government initiative to support fast growing cities tackle the challenges of urban development. Potential areas of technical assistance include traffic and transportation, urban planning, pollution, infrastructure and smart cities.
In Dhaka, Transport for London will provide training and advisory services on traffic and transportation to DNCC and other relevant government agencies.
The British High Commissioner delivered remarks to the guests present.
