Land Minister Md Mizanur Rahman Minu has provided donations to 85 puja mandaps in Rajshahi metropolis on the occasion of Sharadiya Durga Puja.
A total of Taka 17 lakh was donated, with Taka 20,000 per mandap.
The financial assistance was distributed on Saturday afternoon at an event organized at Dharmasabha in the city, following an exchange of views with representatives of the puja mandaps and members of the Sanatan community.
In his speech as the chief guest at the event, the land minister said, “Bangladesh is a country of communal harmony. The history of Rajshahi is a history of cordiality. The government is providing all-out cooperation so that the Hindu community can celebrate Durga Puja in a safe and festive environment.”
Rajshahi District BNP Member Secretary Bishwanath Sarkar and Sanatan religious leaders were present at the event.
