Donald Trump, the Republican candidate for the upcoming presidential election of the United States of America, has become popular all over the world beyond the borders of the United States. No U.S. presidential candidate has ever been so popular before the election abroad. The assassination attempt at Donald Trump recently in Pennsylvania sparked widespread discourse all over the world. An image of Donald Trump pumping his fist into the air moments after he was shot becomes a venerated portrait to his followers all over the world. As like as the engraved t-shirt with iconic image of communist revolutionary Chee Guevara, Chinese e-commerce platforms had printed t-shirts featuring Trump’s image and sold online less than three hours after the shooting. During his tenure as the U.S. President, “slightly wobbled” Trump was at the center of global discussion for his unprecedented activities. Which has not the case with current President Biden. The presence of Russian President Vladimir Putin or Chinese President Xi Jinping is much brighter than Biden in neutral media outside the United States. Which is a bit of a shame for the United States! Donald Trump is a media celebrity – he knows how to be in the media center. Because of this, he was able to use the issue of assassination attempt as a propaganda tool. From the examples of his past term, it is certain that if he is re-elected, he will do many innovative activities in his own style, especially in the field of foreign policy. In the world, very few people want war. Except for some arms dealers, most countries outside the U.S. have suffered from the war in Ukraine. In the nearly two-and-a-half-year-old war, far from defeating Putin, Ukraine is in danger of losing all. The people of Europe are in fear of another world war, while U.S. weapons sales reached a record total of $238bn (£187bn) in 2023, according to BBC. NATO itself has been divided over the Ukraine war. After two years of war and not being able to defeat Putin, the whole of Europe is now suffering from depression. Apart from military and economic support to Ukraine, the burden of Ukrainian refugees has exhausted Europe. This has created a division between NATO countries. The latest Moscow visit of the Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin has unearthed the NATO division. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen criticized Orban’s Moscow visit, termed “appeasement will not stop” Putin. Now we have to wait and see, what kind of measures NATO will take against the Hungarian Prime Minister in the wake of this unexpected visit. Without a doubt, a cease-fire without the recovery of all Ukrainian territory would be a failure of NATO and in the future no country would step into NATO’s fold like Ukraine If the effort to defeat Putin fails, NATO is likely to break up. At this circumstance, Republican candidate Trump announced that he would stop Russia-Ukraine war within 24 hours or reducing aid to Ukraine. Moreover, he will create a two-tier NATO system; only members who met the 2 percent spending threshold would get the “security guarantee of the U.S. Vladimir Putin responded with great enthusiasm for trump’s desire to stop war. Putin said that he took Trump’s words seriously. Therefore, the upcoming US elections have enough reasons for the Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to worry about. The Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reacted with shock and dismay to the remarks of Trump. “If Trump knows how to finish this war, he should tell us today,” Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said. In his previous tenure as U.S. President, Donald Trump was the pathfinder of 21-century’s “American Isolationist Policy” as he adopted his “America First” agenda to retreat from a leading contributor to its traditional allies. He raised the question of the existence of NATO and pushed the alliance to the verge of break up. He pulled out from the Paris climate treaty, the Iranian nuclear deal and the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade agreement. He also reduced the U.S.’ global responsibilities in the UNESCO, the United Nations Human Rights Council and the World Health Organization. Trump’s announcement has given hope to peace lover of the world. Maybe, the seemingly `impossible’ Ukraine war will stop. Ukrainian people can sleep in peace again. However, Trump had done many far-fetched tasks while in power as the President of the United States. Analyzing his past activities, many things become clear and peace can be expected. During his tenure as President, Trump did not push the button of any nuclear weaponry and the world was save from another nuclear mushroom like Hiroshima or Nagasaki. Donald Trump was the least warmongering U.S. President in this century. Every predecessor from Bill Clinton to Barack Obama had ‘blood on their hands’, as it were, as they became involved with indiscriminate foreign war. But in his tenure, Trump has sought to prevent further bloodshed of U.S. troops abroad by avoiding direct war. Significantly, he initiated the repatriation of large numbers of U.S. soldiers from Afghanistan, Iraq and Syria. When Donald Trump launched a devastating missile strikes against Syria in April 2017 and again in 2018, many feared a full-scale USA invasion was on the cards. But Trump restrained from a massive bloodshed, much to the relief of U.S. troops and their families. Still, Trump’s critics blamed him for missing an opportunity to eradicate the Putin-backed Assad government and his failure to reduce the Russian influence in Middle East. In October 2019, Trump ordered to withdraw the U.S. troops from northern Syria. Again, the USA House of Representatives condemned Trump’s withdrawal of the USA troops from Syria and blamed him for “abandoning USA allies, undermining the struggle against ISIS, and spurring a “humanitarian catastrophe.” The arms manufacturers, no-doubt, became very disappointed following the decision. In 2018, Donald Trump famously staged a diplomatic summit to solve the nuclear dispute with North Korea, holding three high profile meetings with ‘Rocket-Boy’ Kim Jong-un. He also received a “beautiful letter. While bold, he was too slow to achieve his goal of preventing North Korea from hosting missiles. If he is elected again, he could move to hold peace talks with North Korea, the U.S.’ most traditionally notorious enemy. If elected, Trump may sit down with Putin, America’s archenemy, to achieve something that cannot be achieved through war. He can also exploit the huge trade potential with Russia—which is far more attractive than Ukraine’s sovereignty. Moreover, he will create a two-tier NATO system; only members who met the 2 percent spending threshold would get the “security guarantee of the U.S. Business tycoon Trump may demand more investment in weapon manufacturing from his NATO allies for security guarantees. As a result, even if the war in Ukraine ends, American arms producers will not be discouraged to produce deadly weapons.
