Chief Adviser of the newly formed interim government Dr Muhammad Yunus and thirteen advisers paid
homage to the martyrs of the Liberation War by placing wreaths at the National Memorial in Savar this
morning.
At first, Dr Yunus placed the wreath around 10am amid heavy rain and stood in solemn silence here for
some time as a mark of profound respect to the memories of the martyrs of the 1971 War of Liberation.
A smartly turned-out contingent drawn from Bangladesh Army, Bangladesh Navy and Bangladesh Air
Force presented a state salute on the occasion when bugles played the last post.
The advisers of the newly formed interim government, the chiefs of the three services, and high civil
and military officials were present on the occasion.
Later, flanked by other advisers, he also placed another wreath.

Earlier, the chief advisor arrived at the National Memorial by a helicopter while chiefs of three services
received him.
The Chief Adviser along with other advisers left the National Memorial at 10.20am for the capital city to
pay homage to the martyrs of the Language Movement at the Central Shaheed Minar.
The chief adviser and other advisers of the interim government were sworn-in on Thursday night.
