Staff Correspondent The USA government hoped the interim government of Bangladesh will play a vital role in establishing long-term peace and political stability in Bangladesh. The U.S. State Department Spokesperson Matthew Miller said while he spoke at a press briefing. “Any decisions that interim government makes should respect democratic principles, rule of law, and the will of the Bangladeshi people.” Miller said. “We continue to monitor developments in Bangladesh, and we obviously have seen the appointment of Muhammad Yunus as the leader of an interim government.” Miller added. About a question regarding US visa status of deposed Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Miller said visa records are confidential under U.S. law; he couldn’t speak to them in any way
