The price of gold has decreased in the country’s market. The price of the best quality or 22 carat gold (11.664 grams) has been reduced by Tk 1,750. In this, the price of one bar of good quality gold has been fixed at 1 lakh 11 thousand 158 taka.
Bajus Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring Committee meeting on Tuesday (March 19) decided to reduce the prices. Later this information was informed in a circular signed by the chairman of the committee, Masudur Rahman.
It has been said that the price of acidic gold has decreased in the local market. Therefore, considering the overall situation, Bangladesh Jewelery Association has fixed the new price of gold, which will be effective from Wednesday (March 20).
According to the new price, the price of a 22 carat gold bar has been reduced by Tk 1,750 to Tk 1,11,158. The price of a 21 carat gold bar has been reduced from Tk 1,633 to Tk 1,6,142.
Besides, the price of 18 carat gold has been reduced by Tk 1,400 to Tk 90,979. The price of traditional method gold has been reduced from 1 thousand 166 taka to 75 thousand 816 taka.
Gold jewelery will be sold by adding 5 per cent VAT on the Bajus fixed price. At the same time, the minimum wage per worker is 3 thousand 499 taka. As a result, buyers will have to pay 1 lakh 20 thousand 215 taka to buy a piece of 22 carat gold jewelry from tomorrow.
Earlier, on March 7, the price of a good quality gold bari was fixed at Tk 1 lakh 12 thousand 908. It broke all the previous records and created a new record for the highest price of gold. After selling at a record price for 13 days, gold is now slightly lower.
