Recently, the Swedish Embassy signed a 2-year, 27.5 million SEK agreement with the Reproductive
Health Services Training and Education Programme (RHSTEP).
This project empowers women in 17 districts in Bangladesh by: Improving access to SRHR services in
hospitals and clinics. Providing essential healthcare, including contraceptives, menstrual regulation, and
post-abortion care.
"Sweden prioritizes SRHR for better health outcomes, gender equality, and poverty reduction," said Ms.
Maria Stridsman, Head of Development Cooperation at the Swedish Embassy. "We're excited to
collaborate with RHSTEP on achieving our shared vision for women and young girl's health in
Bangladesh."
Sweden has been a strong supporter of sexual and reproductive health rights (SRHR) in Bangladesh for
over 30 years.
