Peaceful talks are underway to rescue the Bangladeshi ship MV Abdullah, which is under the control of Somali pirates, said Foreign Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud. He said this to the reporters after the exchange of views regarding the implementation of the government’s development program in Chittagong district today at Chittagong Circuit House Auditorium.
The foreign minister said that there is no bloody operation, peaceful talks are going on to rescue the Bangladeshi ship MV Abdullah, which was held hostage by Somali pirates.
Hasan Mahmud said MV Abdullah, which is being held hostage in Somalia, is not only a ship but also has coal worth billions of rupees. As these coals are flammable materials, there is a danger of explosion at any time.
Stating that there are 23 officers of various levels on the ship, the Foreign Minister said, ‘It is most important to protect them. And so there is no option to proceed peacefully.’ The minister also said that they will be brought back to the country very soon.
Various international organizations are also helping us in this regard and if you talk to the families of the sailors, you will know that they are also very confident. Hopefully, we will be able to rescue the sailors soon.
