Palestine Ambassador Yousef S. Y. Ramadan recently
called on the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at her official
residence, Ganabhaban.
The Prime Minister handed over a cheque for BDT 5
crore as financial assistance for establishing an
orphanage in Gaza in the name of the Bangladeshi
people.
The premier highlighted the West's double standards and
hypocrisy when it comes to upholding human rights for
Palestinians. She also commended four NATO member
states (Spain, Norway, Ireland and Slovenia) that recently
recognized Palestine as a state. She further emphasized
the empathy of the Bangladeshi people for Palestinians
and recalled the similar suffering experienced by
Bangladesh in 1971. The Prime Minister reiterated her
unwavering support for Palestine at international
forums, stating that she does not fear repercussions.
