The Learning and Sharing Workshop was held recently with Mashiur Rahman ndc, Secretary, Ministry
of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs (MoCHTA) as chief guest while Edwin Koekkoek, Team Leader at the
EU, and representatives from the Implementing Partners also took part in the workshop.
Since 2018 the EU has been supporting the Leadership to Ensure Adequate Nutrition (LEAN) project to
improve maternal and child nutrition in the three Districts of Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT).
Through a successful multi stakeholder model (including the Government, private sector,
development partner, NGOs and CSOs), LEAN has reached and improved the lives of more than 1
million of people in CHT.
LEAN initiative has improved the health and nutritious status of 210,000 households, as well as their
income opportunities through the strengthening of climate smart value chains in the agri-food
system.
LEAN is a great example of community based enterprise model, where empowered women have
become drivers of change for both their households and community.
