Japanese Ambassador IWAMA Kiminori visited Chittagong from November 6th to 7th, engaging in a
series of productive meetings and site visits. On the first day of his visit, he toured the factories in
Chittagong Export Processing Zone (CEPZ) and the Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry
(CCCI), where he exchanged views with Japanese business representatives and CCCI board members.
The discussions focused on recent business trends in Bangladesh, the current state of foreign
investment, and the investment climate.
In the afternoon, he paid a visit to the Asian University for Women (AUW) located in the city and toured
the campus. He met with students and faculty members, and discussed the current situation and
challenges facing women's education in Bangladesh.
The second day included visits to the Chittagong Port Authority (CPA) and A K Khan UCEP Technical
School, where he held substantive talks with the representatives. The discussions coverd current
operations, addressed key challenges, and explored future prospects of respective organisations.
