Japanese Ambassador IWAMA Kiminori paid a courtesy call on Foreign Affairs Adviser Mr. Md. Touhid
Hossain.
Japanese Ambassador IWAMA expressed Japan's hope that Bangladesh will keep advancing on the path
of stable development through a peaceful and democratic political transition. Ambassador IWAMA also
stated Japan's intention to continue supporting Bangladesh's development and prosperity under the
“Strategic Partnership” enshrined between the two countries, while standing by the interim government
led by Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus.
Japanese Ambassador IWAMA further mentioned that since the founding of Bangladesh, Japan has not
only focused on developing infrastructure and strengthening the industrial base but has also
consistently worked on other issues such as governance enhancement, local development, improving
the quality of healthcare and education, as well as disaster prevention and climate change measures.
Ambassador IWAMA reiterated Japan's readiness to continue Japan’s cooperation, taking into account
the priorities of the interim government.
Regarding support for Rohingya refugees, Ambassador IWAMA highlighted Japan's ongoing assistance
and requested continued cooperation and collaboration to pave the way for a solution to the problem.)
In response to these remarks by Ambassador IWAMA, Foreign Affairs Adviser Mr. Md. Touhid Hossain
expressed his gratitude for Japan’s support. Both sides concurred that they would closely work together
to advance the Japan-Bangladesh relationship.
