Japanese Ambassador IWAMA Kiminori recently participated as a Special Guest in the closing ceremony
of the Hackathon Contest “Code Samurai 2024” jointly hosted by BJIT and Dhaka University Computer
Science and Engineering and supported and sponsored by Japanese companies, local governments, JICA
and JETRO. Salman F Rahman, Adviser for Private Industry and Investment to Prime Minister and Vice
Chancellor of Dhaka University also participated in the ceremony.
The contest was held on May 9 and 10, with 41 teams of three students each from universities around
Bangladesh competing in ICT skills by developing mobile applications to support waste management.
More than 70 people from Japanese companies, local governments, and universities visited Bangladesh
to participate in the contest.
