Recently, Japanese Ambassador IWAMA Kiminori paid a courtesy call on Mr. Md. Nahid Islam, Advisor
for Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology, and Information and Broadcasting, and
exchanged views on matters related to ICT and broadcasting.
In the meeting, Japanese Ambassador Iwama explained Japan's cooperation in the ICT sector, including
through supporting and welcoming Bangladesh's young IT talents, and Honorable Advisor Mr. Mr. Md.
Nahid Islam expressed his appreciation for Japan's continued commitment.
Ambassador Iwama further conveyed the concerns held by the Japanese business community who have
experienced business disruption due to internet shutdown in July. In response, Honorable Advisor Mr.
Mr. Md. Nahid Islam assured that such event will not be repeated in the future.
They also affirmed the importance of cultural and people-to-people exchange in areas related to ICT and
broadcasting.
