Japanese Ambassador IWAMA Kiminori recently attended the
Launching Ceremony of“Development of Mediation and Civil Litigation
Practices for Enhancement of Access to Justice Project”implemented by
Law and Justice Division, Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary
Affairs with the cooperation of JICA and Research and Training
Institute, Ministry of Justice in Japan.
Law, Justice and Parliament affairs Minister Anisul Huq, Md. Golam
Sarwar, Secretary, Law and Justice Division, and ICHIGUCHI Tomohide,
Chief Representative, JICA Bangladesh Office also attended the
ceremony.
This project aims to strengthen mediation functions in legal aid offices
and courts, with a focus on ensuring equal access to appropriate
resolution mechanisms for all citizens. It also targets the training of
mediators and seeks to improve operational systems to mitigate the
concentration on litigation. Furthermore, it will focus on addressing the
litigation procedures by investigating the cause of delay and proposing
necessary remedies.
