Food insecurity is increasing worldwide due to armed conflicts and adverse weather conditions. At least 45 such countries are in need of food aid, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) said. This is what the organization said in a report published three-yearly.
The report was prepared by the Food and Agriculture Organization based on data available up to February 2024.
The report published by the organization includes 33 African countries, nine in Asia, two in Latin America and the Caribbean and one in Europe.

According to the Food and Agriculture Organization report, conflicts are increasing food insecurity in East Asia and West-East Africa. Food insecurity is increasing in southern Africa due to drought conditions. Even in the future, the situation is not expected to improve, the agency has warned.
The report also claims that unresolved regional conflicts and the failure to reach a climate conference are exacerbating the global humanitarian crisis.
