Recently, the Dutch Ambassador Irma van Dueren and the World Bank’s Country Director signed an
agreement to facilitate Dutch contributions to the Jamuna River Sustainable Management Project-1.
This initiative will enhance flood management and navigation capacity in the Jamuna River through an
adaptive delta management approach and nature-based solutions. Additionally, it aims to create
economic opportunities in areas where the poverty rate is 37%, driven by disasters and climate
displacement,
