Chinese Ambassador H.E. Mr. Yao Wen recently attended the “Reunion of Bangladeshi Participants
Attending 2023 Chinese Government Training Programs”. More than 180 people attended the event,
including Mr. Md. Anwar Hossain, Additional Secretary, Wing Chief of ERD, Ministry of Finance,
representatives of the participants, representatives of Chinese institutions in Bangladesh, Confucius
Institutes and Confucius Classroom, and major media.
Ambassador Yao Wen said in his speech that 2023 is a fruitful year for the Chinese government’s
training programs to Bangladesh. 370 Bangladeshi friends from 73 training seminars have participated
in this year’s training programs. In the future, China will provide more bilateral training programs to
offer exchange and training opportunities for more Bangladeshi government officials, technical
experts and young scholars in China.
Ambassador Yao pointed out that 2023 is a year for further deepening the strategic partnership
between China and Bangladesh, and a number of mega projects constructed by Chinese companies
have been completed, making positive contributions to promoting the economic and social
development and improving the livelihood of Bangladeshi people. China is the most reliable
development partner and a true friend of Bangladesh. China-Bangladesh cooperation finds its root
deep in the long-established friendship between the two peoples. The attempts to interfere with
China-Bangladesh cooperation will be echoed by no one but to no avail. The so-called China trap is
sheer fabrication，but rather those projects bring about China benefit, China dividend and China
opportunities to the people of Bangladesh. By nothing but actions will we showcase to the world
what true friends and best partners really mean. China is committed to ensure those training
programs are well-implemented and built into an important platform for bilateral exchanges, thereby
bringing the China-Bangladesh strategic partnership of cooperation to a new level.
In their speeches, Anwar and the six Bangladeshi participants in this year’s training programs spoke
highly of the achievements of China-Bangladesh cooperation, thanked China for its help in promoting
Bangladesh’s economic and social development, and expressed willingness to work with China to
carry out well the Chinese Government Training Programs, promote cultural exchanges and mutual
learning between the two countries, and constantly upgrade the level of cooperation between China
and Bangladesh in various fields.
