AirAsia X recently commemorates the resumption of its flights from Kuala Lumpur to Changsha, the
capital and largest city of Hunan Province in China.
The city has been recognised as one of China's top tourist destinations, frequently chosen by both
foreign and local visitors. Known for its vibrant culture and rich history, it is also a popular destination
for night tourism in the region.
The inaugural flight departed from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (Terminal 2) at 5:25PM and
landed safely at Changsha Huanghua International Airport at 10:30PM on 5 July 2024. Guests travelling
on D7 352 were warmly sent off by Dato’ Fam Lee Ee, Chairman of AirAsia X, Benyamin Ismail, CEO of
AirAsia X and fellow Allstars.
The maiden flight had a passenger load factor of more than 70 per cent, with more than 40 per cent
being Chinese tourists and more than 30 per cent being Malaysians.
AirAsia Group flies to a total of 17 destinations in China. AirAsia X (flight code D7) operates four weekly
flights to Changsha and this marks its sixth destination in the region from Kuala Lumpur, following
Shanghai, Hangzhou, Beijing (Daxing), Chengdu (Tianfu), and Xi’an, further reinforcing AirAsia’s status as
the largest foreign low-cost carrier in the region.
