Japanese Ambassador IWAMA Kiminori recently participated in ”Branding Seminar on Dhaka Metro Rail:
A Step Towards Transforming Transportation”, which was organized by the Dhaka Mass Transit
Company Limited(DMTCL). This seminar was attended by Obaidul Quader, Hon'ble Minister, Ministry of
Road Transport and Bridges, Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh, Mayor, Dhaka South City Corporation,
Md. Atiqul Islam, Mayor, Dhaka North City Corporation, Mr. Rejwan Ahammad Taufiq, Chairman,
Parliamentary Standing Committee on MoRTB, and others.
During the meeting, the ambassador emphasized that even after Bangladesh graduates from LDC status,
the country should continue to seek methods and means to improve its transportation system while
leveraging initiatives from Japan's private sector to achieve sustainable growth.
