Police have arrested 76 people in separate special drives in the capital’s Turag, Bangshal, Lalbagh and Mohammadpur areas.
According to a Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) press release, the arrests were made on Tuesday during special operations in crime-prone areas under the four police stations.
Turag police arrested 15 people, while Bangshal and Lalbagh police detained 10 and six respectively. Mohammadpur police arrested 45 people in its jurisdiction.
The detainees were arrested in connection with various alleged offences, police said.
Legal proceedings have been initiated against the arrested individuals.
