Recently, the newly appointed Norwegian Ambassador to Bangladesh, Håkon Arald Gulbrandsen
presented his credentials from King Harald V of Norway to President Mohammed Shahabuddin, which
marks the official beginning of his duties in Bangladesh. The Ambassador was accompanied by his
spouse Marianne Hagen.
Following the ceremony, the President and the Ambassador exchanged views on the longstanding
relationship between Norway and Bangladesh in the areas of development, foreign policy, trade, and
shared perspectives on future cooperation.
The new Ambassador looks forward to strengthening ties that exist between Norway and Bangladesh:
“It is a privilege to serve as the Norwegian Ambassador to Bangladesh in such a crucial moment in the
country’s history. We have more than 50 years of diplomatic relations, and my door will always be open
for initiatives that can strengthen our cooperation even further.”
