(BSS) – State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Yasser Khan Choudhury today laid the foundation stone for the construction of an approach road to a 96-metre-long PSC girder bridge over the Narsunda River at Kaliganj Bazar in Nandail upazila of the district.

Speaking at the founding laying ceremony, he said the government is making its strides to bring about a major transformation in the country’s rural infrastructure and communication network.

Once the construction of the approach road is completed, it will facilitate transportation for local residents and give fresh momentum to agricultural and economic activities in the area, he said.

Earlier, as part of his three-day official visit, the state minister arrived in Nandail from Dhaka this morning.

He then offered Jummah prayers at the Moazzempur Saheb Bari Jame Mosque in Nandail.

After laying the foundation stone in the afternoon, he attended a views-exchange meeting with party leaders and activists at the Nandail Upazila BNP office in the evening.

Officials of the local administration, political figures and distinguished personalities of the locality were present at the event.
