Thai Ambassador Makawadee Sumitmor presented 2,051,918.93 taka (647,996 baht) to Ms.Deepa
Sankar, Chief of Education from UNICEF Bangladesh to support UNICEF's efforts in providing training and
other educational activities to teachers at the Resource Center in Rohingya Displaced Persons Camp No.
9, Cox’s Bazar.
The Chief of Education of UNICEF Bangladesh thanked and expressed appreciation for Thailand's
ongoing support to UN agencies and international organizations in providing humanitarian assistance to
Rohingya Displaced Persons, and hopes that Thailand will continue to extend its support to UNICEF in
delivering essential humanitarian assistance.
Since 2017, Thailand has continually provided humanitarian assistance to Rohingya Displaced Persons in
Bangladesh through various UN agencies amounting to over 800,000 USD. This includes the
collaboration with UNICEF in constructing the Resource Center in Camp 9 in Cox’s Bazar in 2022, which
reflects Thailand’s steadfast commitment to working with the international community in extending
humanitarian assistance.
