Pakistan High Commissioner to Bangladesh Syed Ahmed Maroof has met BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia.
The high commissioner’s flag-bearing vehicle entered her Gulshan residence ‘Feroza’ around 8:30pm on Tuesday.
BNP Standing Committee Member AZM Zahid Hossain and Organising Secretary Shama Obaid were present during the meeting.
Zahid told bdnews24.com, “The Pakistani High Commissioner exchanged greetings with Madam [Khaleda Zia] and inquired about her health.”
This marks another diplomatic engagement with the BNP chief following the Aug 5 executive order that secured her release after the fall of Sheikh Hasina government.
British High Commissioner Sarah Cooke visited Khaleda on Sept 5, followed by Saudi Ambassador Issa bin Youssef Al-Duhailan on Nov 25.
