The Netherlands Ambassador Irma van Dueren and Agriculture Minister Dr. Md Abdus Shahid, MP,
recently inaugurated an onion storage facility in the Giant Agro Processing premises at Bhaluka,
Mymensingh.
This initiative is a part of the Onion Impact Cluster, where a consortium of Dutch Companies and
Bangladeshi companies are working together with the support of the Dutch Government (RVO) to
strengthen the onion value chain in Bangladesh.
With Dutch technology and this kind of high-tech storage facility, onions will be available all year round,
there will be more varieties available and productivity will be higher.
