Foreign Minister Dr. Khalilur Rahman today congratulated US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and the people of the United States on the occasion of the country’s 250th Independence Day, reaffirming Bangladesh’s commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations.

In a message posted on his official X account, the foreign minister said Bangladeshis joined Americans in celebrating the historic occasion and reaffirmed their shared commitment to the common values of freedom, democracy and rights.

“Heartiest congratulations to Secretary Rubio and the people of the United States of America on the occasion of the 250th Birthday of the USA. Bangladeshis join Americans in celebrating this day and in upholding our common values of freedom, democracy, and rights,” he wrote.

The foreign minister also expressed optimism about the future of bilateral ties, saying he looked forward to working closely with the United States to further advance the thriving partnership between the two countries.

Bangladesh and the United States maintain longstanding cooperation across a wide range of areas, including trade and investment, development, security, health, education and people-to-people exchanges.
