Japanese Ambassador IWAMA Kiminori paid a courtesy visit recently to Dr Muhammad Fawzul Kabir
Khan, advisor to the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources, the Ministry of Road Transport
and Bridges, and the Ministry of Railways.
Ambassador Iwama expressed his heartfelt condolences to those affected by the severe flooding caused
by the heavy rains. He also mentioned Japan's continued cooperation in the fields of power and energy,
and transportation infrastructure, while standing with the interim government led by Chief Advisor
Yunus. He further shared expectations for the stable development of Bangladesh's economy and
investment environment through the restoration of damaged facilities and addressing issues related to
energy supply. Dr. Khan expressed his gratitude for Japan's longstanding contributions in various fields,
and expressed his hope for further strengthening economic cooperation between the two countries.
Both sides agreed to work closely together to further develop Japan-Bangladesh relations.
