Indian High Commissioner Pranay Verma inaugurated recently the Liaison Office of Numaligarh
Refinery Limited (NRL) today in Dhaka in the presence of Mr. Bhaskar Jyoti Phukan, Managing Director
of NRL.
In his inaugural remarks, High Commissioner complimented NRL for opening its liaison office in Dhaka
as well as on the successful completion of NRL's project of India-Bangladesh Friendship Pipeline,
which was jointly inaugurated by the Prime Ministers of India and Bangladesh in March 2023, as the
first cross-border pipeline for supply of petroleum products to Bangladesh. High Commissioner
described the collaboration in Power & Energy sector as a hallmark of the all-encompassing
relationship between India and Bangladesh and an important pillar of sub-regional economic
integration. He hoped that NRL's Liaison Office will open avenues for greater bilateral collaboration in
the energy sector between our two countries.
