High Commissioner Pranay Verma was invited by Hamdard University in Dhaka to celebrate the World
Unani Day on 11 February 2024. In his address at the event, High Commissioner highlighted the
renewed focus on traditional medicine in today’s global discourse about holistic healthcare. He
encouraged stronger partnership between India and Bangladesh in the area of traditional medicine,
including under the aegis of WHO’s new Global Centre for Traditional Medicine being set up in India.
