Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed today stressed on returning the power of the people to them to flourish the country’s political strength.

He said this while addressing as the chief guest a doa mahfil at BNP central office in Nayapaltan in the capital after Asr prayers, on the occasion of the holy Shab-e-Barat.

Rizvi said, “We got freedom at the cost of a lot of blood. We have to take care so that freedom is not harmed due to petty interests. We have to do what is beneficial for the people of the country.”

The BNP spokesperson demanded a free and fair election, in which everyone can participate and voters can fearlessly go to the polling stations to vote for candidates of their choice.
“This is a big job of the interim government,” he said.

BNP Volunteer Affairs Secretary Mir Sarafat Ali Sapu, Religious Affairs Secretary Rafiqul Islam Jamal, Rangpur Divisional Assistant Organizing Secretary Professor Aminul Islam, Assistant Publicity Secretary Asadul Karim Shaheen joined the doa mahfil.

BNP National Executive Committee member (attached to the office) Md. Abdus Sattar Patwari moderated the programme.
