Local administration today announced to keep Gopalganj under curfew until 6am tomorrow to maintain the law and order.
District Magistrate of Gopalganj Muhammad Kamruzzaman imposed the curfew from 6pm today to 6 am tomorrow in the entire Gopalganj in order to maintain public order, peace and security of life and property of the people.
According to a public order issued today, emergency services such as ambulances, fire services, electricity supply companies and media personnel having curfew pass will be exempted from the restriction.
The curfew was imposed in view of the circumstances arising out of the roadside meeting of the National Citizen Party (NCP) in Gopalganj district on July 16 last, the order said.
