The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has banned carrying and displaying all types of firearms and explosives in Dhaka University and its adjacent areas.
A public notice signed by DMP Commissioner SM Sazzat Ali was issued today in this connection.
According to the notice, carrying and display of all types of firearms and explosives has been prohibited in Dhaka University and its adjacent areas from 8:00pm on September 8 to 12:00pm on September 11.
The DMP Commissioner issued the notice by virtue of the powers conferred under Section 28 (1) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police Ordinance (Ordinance No. III/76).
The DMP Commissioner has requested the city residents to comply with the instructions.
