Nepalese Ambassador Ghanshyam Bhandari had a meeting with Mayor of Sylhet City Corporation,
Anwaruzzaman Chowdhury, recently in Sylhet. Various matters of mutual interest including
strengthening people-to-people ties between Sylhet and major cities in Nepal were discussed during the
meeting.
Earlier, the Ambassador had an interaction with the President and officials of Sylhet Chamber of
Commerce & Industry (SCCI) and business leaders of Sylhet. In the interaction, views were exchanged on
ways to promote bilateral trade and enhance connectivity between Sylhet and major cities in Nepal.
The Ambassador also visited Sylhet Women’s Medical College(SWMC) and held interactions with college
officials and Nepali students studying at SWMC. He addressed the concerns and interests of Nepali
students and highlighted the educational linkages between Nepal and Bangladesh.
