The government has sent a letter to the Election
Commission (EC) to hold the 13th National Parliamentary Election and a
referendum on the same day.
Senior Secretary of EC Secretariat Akhtar Ahmed said this to journalists
after attending a workshop at a city hotel today.
He said, “On Thursday, the Cabinet Division sent a letter to the Election
Commission Secretariat stating that the EC will organise the referendum. The
referendum and the national parliamentary election will be held on the same
day.”
