On December 17, the Embassy organized a ceremonial celebration at the Chancery which was attended
by the officials of the Embassy and a few students.
In the evening, a reception was hosted which was attended by the diplomatic corps in Dhaka, authorities
of the Bangladesh, businesses, media, travel agents, hoteliers, Bhutanese in Bangladesh including
students, other influential individuals and friends of Bhutan.
As the Chief Guest, the reception was graced by Sk. Bashir Uddin, Adviser, Ministry of Commerce and
Ministry of Textiles & Jute.
The reception displayed and served Bhutanese food, beverages, water and fruit juices. The Drukair
Office in Dhaka and Bhutan Outlet (STCBL) in Dhaka set up stalls to showcase their products and
services.
The reception also featured cultural dance items performed by Bhutanese students, and lucky draws for
the guests.
The reception was attended by more than 350 people.
